Ooyala, a developer of online video technology, announced that it now supports insertion of IAB-standard ads for the iPhone and iPad.
“Helping publishers grow their businesses and generate revenue from their content has always been one of Ooyala’s core goals,” said Bismarck Lepe, President of Products at Ooyala. “Mobile devices are becoming a big percentage of total video delivery for some publishers. As a result, we felt it was important to develop a way for them to start monetizing this mobile audience without the need for complicated SDKs and custom player development.”

Premieres. Awards. Networking. Panels. In four days of activities showcasing some 40 works of film, the Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival featured all of the above.
Hosted for the fourth year by Run & Shoot Filmworks and run by husband and wife Floyd and Stephanie Tavares-Rance, the event afforded film buffs, actors, producers and crew an opportunity to view the industry’s latest projects and meet those who work both behind and in front of the camera. The festivities began with a friendly reception hosted by Idol Vodka amid the scenic view atop Vineyard Haven’s Mansion House Hotel and Spa.
On Friday night at Edgartown Cinema, Tony Award-winning actor Ben Vereen presented the world premiere of the film “Idlewild,” in which he stars alongside Outkast members Andre 3000 and Big Boi, as well as Bill Nunn, Terrance Howard and Macy Gray. Vereen was originally involved in the movie only as an acting coach, but wound up cast as the father of the piano-playing Percy, played by Andre 3000. The film is a surreal, humor-filled musical examining the choices the lead characters must make between family obligations and their jobs working at a Georgia juke joint.

When I first tried the evaluation version or edition 3 a while ago, it frustrated me that I had to copy and paste every page of the manual from the word processor into H&M. This was a daunting task even for our modest sized manual that runs just over 50 pages. With the newer version however, all I had to do was export the document to Rich Text Format and use the import feature in H&M. The software went off and did its thing, returning to me with a nice manual file broken into sections based on the various headings in the document. While there were a few minor layout glitches these were easily solved, and the overall benefit of being able to directly import the manual was a huge timesaver. While it took me 3 shifts (about 4 hours a piece) to import and format the manual manually, with the new version of H&M, I had it all looking and working nicely within a single shift and still had time to edit and modify the document.
